My friend and I had to visit the Hospital last week and the friendly service offered by the parking attendant (Nigel)was very good, friendly and information confirming there was a concessionay discounted permit available for people visiting over a number of days.
I normally don't complain about parking charges as they are a part of modern life. However, I was charged 2.80 for under ten minutes parking at the Treliske Hospital Truro site. This charge equates to approximately 17 per hour.My daughter in law had broken her leg and I needed to collect her and the baby from the fracture clinic. I wasn't sure that she would be ready so I went into the QPark car park. I got out of the car and saw her outside waiting. I loaded the pushchair and them into the car in under ten minutes. I thought that there might be no charge or just a small charge for such a short time but no, I had to pay 2.80 which is simply daylight robbery. I was shocked that there wasn't an under 30 minutes charge. Also many car parks allow a 15 minute turn around time just incase you can't park. As it was there was only one space left. Therefore, if only one car had been badly parked car I would have needed to leave anyway.Unfortunately, I did not enjoy a positive parking experience as stated on their website. Please be fair for short stays and bring in a smaller charge for under 30 minutes.
Today a Q-Park employee was blocking the exit and was shouting at a young lady in her car. I waited patiently but after a few minutes, the traffic was backed up. I sound my horn and then the employee turned to me, approached my driver window and commenced to scream and shout at me. His shouting continued and I thought he was going to lash out at me. He called me a stupid old man and various other words. I asked for his name and he then walked off. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour.
Absolute disgrace charging so much at a hospital car park. This is the only option for parking. Ripping off the sick & their families. I believe in Scotland & Wales hospital parking is free which is as it should be. If free is not possible 50p an hour would be acceptable. I would be surprised if this gets on the web, hoping you are honest enough to but a real review up, not just the ''great help with my tyre' i read at treliske yesterday.
Amazing staff, very accommodating and helpful. If you hear any bad things about q-park, don't listen! Thank you for always being so brilliant!
