I have considered long and hard before writing this review, but working on the knowledge that if people don't know things are wrong they cannot change them have at last decided to put it down here. Just before Christmas, I was in Truro doing some shopping and went to wait for a taxi by the town clock. There were 2 other ladies in the queue with me and 4 pupils from your school (apparent as they were wearing their uniform). One on the pupils was eating a sandwich which she purchased from Poundland, and when she had finished she threw the carton onto the floor. One of the other girls looked a bit uncomfortable, but did not say or do anything. The other ladies looked at me and raised their eyes, and one commented that clearly manners and public responsibility were not taught at the Girls School. I asked the pupil in question if she intended to pick the litter up to which she replies "Why should I?" I then said to her if you did that at home what would your Mother say or do, her response "she would say nothing and pick it up and put it in the bin". Undeterred I asked her what her teachers in school would think of her actions and the impression they were making on people in the city, again her response was astounding. "They would'nt care, they don't care what we do when we are outside". I told her that if that was the case, then standards at the Girls School are obviously not as good as one would expect them to be, she shrugged her shoulders and then got her mobile out presumably to put on social media how cool she was for being a litter lout.Whilst realising that the school cannot be held responsible for the way its pupils behave whilst not on the premises, it should be ingrained on your pupils that whilst they are wearing the School Uniform, they are presenting an image of the school, and on this occasion it was not positive. This is not some air head with nothing better to do writing this, but a senior citizen who does not expect such disrespectful behaviour from pupils of a school that is so highly regarded. I shall keep my eye on pupils from your school now whenever i see them in the city, loitering or gathering, and if it occurs again, will film the evidence, "Yes" i too have a mobile phone and can also use it.
