Absolutely rude and awful Staff- mainly the short haired blond lady and the old grumpy man. They just stand there chatting or ignoring people,or not letting people in, being extremely demanding and rude. using their "power" to make life more difficult to people. I've missed my trains on many occasions, last time I had to wait an hour for the next train with my child. Only because they were too busy ignoring people rather than helping me get in ...When your ticket is on email, but you can't download it (there is no WiFi or cash machine at the station, they lock the warm waiting area around 6-even though loads of people with kids travel after that time) and you show them a confirmation details and ticket number...they will still ignore you. You can even get on the station and say goodbye to your loved ones...because I don't know..they scared someone will "ride for free". So closed minded, and backwards...it's a shame that people like these represent GWR. The manager and other staff are great.. just these two are absolutely awful. Maybe HR of GWR should check if these people have insecurity problems, or some power complex which might be why they want to make others life miserable.
Unhelpful and very rude ticketing staff. Will put in a formal complaint, they have the extremely unprofessional attitudes and didn't offer any help when I asked a question, merely shrugging and laughing at my situation.Truly, truly unprofessional and disappointing. A shame there is no other railway station otherwise I would much rather use an alternative.
Uncomplicated city station with three platforms. Services run between Penzance, Paddington, Newcastle and Manchester Piccadilly. There's also the branch line to Falmouth Docks leaving from the bay road alongside the Penzance platform.The station is equipped with automatic gates. There is a staffed gate line on the Penzance side in the ticket hall, and an unstaffed gate line on the London side. It has an assistance button to call staff.As the station doesn't have lifts, to get to the London side step free, it's necessary to go over the level crossing to reach that platform. Both sides have a wide access gate.There's also two footbridges connecting the platforms, one at either end of the station.The station is around 10 minutes walk to the town centre, and it's downhill. Additionally, there is a taxi rank and bus services if you prefer.A pick up/drop off point is in the same area and a small amount of parking available on both sides.On the platform there is a caf and also ladies and gents toilets. The platforms are mostly under canopies and seating is available.My journey to and from Truro didn't go smoothly. The train down was 21 minutes late and the return one was 14 late.I'm grateful to Adam and his team at Truro for helping me to get back to Quintrell Downs. Good job, thanks.
Best train station ever with a little coffee shop with snacks.the train station is not to big or to small.Its the best train station in the Country I would definitely recommend getting a train from here or to here.
